Inishowen Head

Inishowen Head

Being from Inishowen you would think I would recognise this landmark.

I didn’t and have never visited it.

As soon as my college assignments are finished I intend going straight to it, of course as long as it isn’t raining.

But it NEVER rains in Ireland. The proof is in the photo 😉

The Trinidad Valencera sank here. One of the Spanish Armada ships.

Some of the locals are dark skinned and are genetically linked to Spanish Ancestry!

Of those that were not taken in by the locals they were murdered having been tricked into safe passage if they laid down their arms.

Some of the ships cannons are on Display in the Tower Museum in Derry. Well worth a visit. More on it later.

Heading south now, it always feels so after Malin Head and technically you can go south into the Foyle estuary, but it is not a pretty sight. That’s my opinion only and you would never get me swimming there anyway.

Oh, and the English are laying claim to the entire estuary thus preventing a sewage treatment plant being built on the Irish side. How original is that!
